Hi,
the biggest difficulty of those schematics is, that in most cases you are not able to get all the parts you need...
Kleiner Onkel´s circuit is easier to build and the parts are more common...

Often you have to collect different appropriate parts, as much as possible, and combine them to a new circuit .
Therefore, you need much skill and patience...

In your case, to see if you would be able to manage this, first try to get the following parts:

1. VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator). For example:
POS1060 from Minicircuits (easy to handle) or
MAX2623 from Maxim/Dallas (SMD circuit, PBC is needed!)
Sure, other vco will work, too. But i don´t know where to buy them.
(Any vco circuit with 900-1000MHz is possible.)

2. Many old(!) mobile phones. From those you can get appropriative output amplifiers.

Hi...

Don't try this project if you're not really concerned with electronic circuits
and RF equipment.
