Early on in 2010 we heard word that our tune, "No Fear of Falling" was to be used in a new film called Everybody's Fine, starring Robert De Niro. We got in touch with the powers that be to make sure the film company had all they needed regarding the tune. In the process of doing this we got in touch with heir director Mr. Kirk Jones. We met Kirk at a festival we did in London and he was a gent. We had arranged to meet after our gig had finished but John was late as he was watching Teenage Fanclub; one of John's favourite bands. When John turned up an hour later, Kirk shouted at him across the backstage area, "De Niro didn't keep me waiting as long as this you bastard!!" and from that moment we got along as friends.
We talked about the film and the music Kirk was thinking of using whilst demolishing the rider. Many months later when the film premiered in Manchester, we all went down to see it and meet with Kirk for a catch-up. We sat in The Castle, a fine watering hole on Oldham Street, long into the night talking, and over the course of the evening our friend Rachel Davies came up with the idea of Kirk coming to Berlin to make a short film about Kloot, taking in the gig we were playing and talking about this new album we had just recorded called "Sky At Night".
We are very grateful to Kirk and his team coming to Berlin. We had a week to go before coming back from a European tour and Kirk was gracious enough to capture the mood of those three young men with a dream on the road.
