Betreff Jerome Baker

danced Womens Customized Miami Dolphins Jerseys , waved, waggled his index finger and clicked his heels. For a first-year linebacker, it was a surprisingly polished touchdown celebration.Baker bested fellow rookie Sam Darnold, scoring the game's only TD on a 25-yard interception return with 11 minutes left, and a resilient defense helped the Miami Dolphins beat the hapless N ew York Jets 13-6 on Sunday.Darnold threw four interceptions and took four sacks, and the Jets went 2 for 15 on third and fourth down. The hobbled Dolphins (5-4) endured another wave of injuries and the mysterious departure of safety Reshad Jones, who pulled himself out of the game. But their defense was much improved after three consecutive poor games ."We never panicked; we knew what our defense was capable of," Baker said. "When we are executing and do our job and play together, we're one of the best defenses out there."The quality of the opposition helped the defense dominate, however, allowing Miami to win with only seven first downs.Darnold tried to rally the sputtering Jets (3-6) from a 6-3 deficit, but following a punt the rookie took a high snap and made an ill-advised throw to tight end Eric Tomlinson. Baker stepped in front for his first career interception and scored untouched."I didn't throw it with confidence," Darnold said. "I just alligator-armed it — threw it a little bit short."Much of the game was a slog, but Baker provided a video highlight celebrating with his teammates."There is nothing like it," he said, game ball cradled under his arm. "It is the sweetest feeling ever, especially getting in the end zone, seeing your brothers running toward you."T.J. McDonald and Walt Aikens made interceptions to end the Jets' final two possessions."The guys did a good job of complementary football," Dolphins coach Adam Gase said. "They played together. They did a good job of stopping the run and making it as one-dimensional as possible."Miami broke a two-game losing streak and won for only the second time in the past six games. Gase improved to 5-1 against the Jets, including two wins this year. The Jets lost their third in a row and have scored 33 points during the skid. They've dropped nine of their past 10 road games dating to 2017.Darnold went 21 for 39 for 229 yards and a passer rating of 31.8. He came into the game tied for the NFL lead with 10 interceptions , and the four picks were a new high."Two for sure he'd like to have back," coach Todd Bowles said. "Back to the drawing board."Cameron Wake and Akeem Spence had two sacks apiece for the Dolphins, who had allowed 102 points the previous three weeks."Everybody playing together, front to back side to side, and getting a win, that's about as rewarding as it is," Wake said.TO THE BENCHJones, whose tendency to freelance has been an issue www.thedolphinsfootballauthentic.com , watched the second half from the sideline. Gase said he didn't know whether Jones was hurt."It sounds like he pulled himself out," Gase said. "I've just got to find out what happened there."Jones didn't talk to the media after the game.DOLPHINS SUBMiami totaled only 168 yards, but Brock Osweiler improved to 2-2 as a starter filling in for the injured Ryan Tannehill . Osweiler went 15 for 24 for 139 yards and took four sacks, but his unit committed no turnovers."It was just a good old-fashioned fight on the field, and it was fun," Osweiler said. "We won."INJURY REPORTDolphins: LT Laremy Tunsil (knee) left in the fourth quarter. ... RT Ja'Wuan James (knee) departed in the first half, but later returned. ... CB Bobby McCain was evaluated for a concussion. ... DE Robert Quinn limped off in the field in the closing minutes.Jets: C Spencer Long aggravated an injury to the middle finger of his right hand and had half a dozen off-target snaps before leaving the game. ... Backup LB Tarell Basham (knee) left the game in the second half.FULL WEEKENDThe field looked worn but was not an issue less than 24 hours after the Miami Hurricanes and Duke played on it in a downpour.NATIONAL ANTHEMDolphins receiver Kenny Stills kneeled during the anthem and Quinn stood with his right fist raised, as they have done before other games.UP NEXTDolphins: play at Green Bay for the first time since 2010 on Nov. 11.Jets: play host to Buffalo on Nov. 11. The teams also meet on Dec. 9.Follow Steven Wine on Twitter: ://Steve_WineNFL Power Rankings 2018 Week 3: Dolphins continue to climb all around web The Miami Dolphins have started an NFL regular season 2-0 for the first time since 2013, a record that currently has them sitting alone in first place of the AFC East. While it is still early in the season, with 14 more games to be played before a division winner is crowned and the playoff berths are set, the Dolphins are starting to turn some heads. How will their fast start to the season reflect in the Week 3 2018 NFL Power Rankings? Hopefully with a rather sizable gap between themselves and the 32nd position, a place some power rankings had Miami before the start of the season. Here are the Week 3 power rankings for the Dolphins, along with the change from last week and any write up if there was one. At the end, we take a look at the highest single week and average ranking for Miami this year, as well as the lowest for both of those.SB Nation - Rebecca TobackThis week: 12Change: Up 10Meanwhile, the Buccaneers and Dolphins are both 2-0, along with the Jaguars, making for three undefeated teams in Florida. Ryan Tannehill is impressing and Ryan Fitzpatrick is blowing everyone away, looking far better than expected while filling in for the suspended Jameis Winston.Niners Nation - David FucilloThis week: 10Change: None.Bleeding Green Nation - Brandon Lee GowtonThis week: 19Change: Up 5The Dolphins are unexpectedly first in the AFC East at 2-0. Maybe Miami is decent?NFL.com - Elliot HarrisonThis week: 17Change: Up 6The Dolphins have gotten off to the most optimal start fans could envision: 1-0 in the AFC East, 2-0 in the conference and relatively healthy (though the Josh Sitton injury does hurt). Miami’s defense put it on tape, so to speak, in Sunday’s first half, shutting down the Jets at every turn. When Sam Darnold and Co. turned it on after the break, the Dolphins’ offense made the plays it had to make. Look no further than Frank Gore’s (shoestring-)catch-and-run to convert third-and-forever, essentially putting the game away in the fourth quarter. Only 25 yards rushing for him Sunday, but that was still enough to move Gore into fourth place when it comes to career rushing yards. With 14,112 ground yards to his name, Gore only trails Barry Sanders (15 Miami Dolphins T-Shirt ,269), Walter Payton (16,726) and Emmitt Smith (18,355). What a career.ESPN This week: 16Change: Up 8Miami is in sole possession of first place in the AFC East through at least two games for the first time since Week 2 of 2010. FPI gives the Dolphins a 66 percent chance to improve to 3-0 on Sunday and maintain control of first place. -- Joey KoontzCBS Sports - Pete PriscoThis week: 12Change: Up 5They are off to a 2-0 start and have a winnable game at home against Oakland. Adam Gase has this team playing good football.Yahoo! Sports - Frank SchwabThis week: 15Change: Up 10Do you believe? The Titans and Jets, the teams the Dolphins beat, are 2-0 in their other games. So it’s not a glaring example of the Dolphins going 2-0 against terrible teams. Ryan Tannehill looks at least decent. Our preconceived notions of the Dolphins gives them a higher bar to cross before we buy into this 2-0 start. If they can beat the Raiders at home Sunday, a Week 4 game at New England becomes very interesting.Sporting News - Vinnie IyerThis week: 20Change: NoneThe Dolphins have not done much particularly well in the first two games, but they’ve been clean, and that alone can steal a few wins. Credit coach Adam Gase for cooling his hot seat for now.USA Today - Nate DavisThis week: 18Change: Up 5No team averaging fewer passes, but resurgent Ryan Tannehill is highly efficient (72.5% completion, 104.9 rating) when he does throw.Bleacher Report - Paul KasabianThis week: 16Change: Up 10Bleacher Report - NFL StaffThis week: 21Change: Up 7Raise your hand if you thought the Miami Dolphins would be undefeated two weeks into the season and in sole possession of first place in the AFC East. Now put your hand down, you big liar.Last week, the Dolphins used big plays to down the Tennessee Titans. In Week 2, it was, well, um鈥e’re not completely sure. The Dolphins ran for more yards than Ryan Tannehill passed for at the Meadowlands. Miami was outgained by the Jets, 362-257. And yet, thanks in large part to three Jets turnovers, the Dolphins managed to eke out a win.Undefeated or no, we’re still not ready to call the Dolphins contenders. Or even call them good. And at the end of the month, Miami travels to Foxborough to face the Patriots in their first real test of 2018.But with a home date coming up with the Oakland Raiders before that, it’s entirely possible the Dolphins will roll into Gillette Stadium at 3-0 with a chance to open up a two-game lead on the Pats.Nobody saw that coming. The Washington Post - Mark MaskeThis week: 11Change: Up 5Miami Dolphins, AFC East leaders. It’s an odd phrase, isn’t it?Sports Illustrated/MMQB - MMQB StaffThis week: 15Change: Up 4Fansided - Matt VerderameThis week: 23Change: Up 2Give the Dolphins credit. The wins haven’t been impressive, but 2-0 will play, and the Raiders come to South Beach next.2018 SeasonChange in average from last week: Up 5.6Highest Weekly Ranking: Week 2/3 - Niners Nation - 10Highest Average Ranking: Week 2 - 16.1Lowest Weekly Ranking: Week 1 - ESPN - 32Lowest Average Ranking: Week 1 - 27.3Week 1 Average: 27.3Week 2 Average: 21.7Week 3 Average: 16.1
