Re: Wetbike question
Here I come to save the day! LOL.
Moe670, There is very little info out there concerning the 3 cylinder wetbike. A few people have them. I have never seen one in person.
I believe the three cylinder mounting plate is a little different. Also, if I remember correctly, the jet pump output shaft will have to be changed. The three cylinder crankshaft is larger in diameter and won't hook up to the stock jet pump output shaft. The bearing carrier cover in the pump will also need to be bored larger to accomodate the larger output shaft.
This is all just what I have been told, or read about.
I deal mainly in the two cylinder 50 and 60 hp engines.
The topic is pretty devided. Some people say it is a good way to go for extra power. Others say that the extra weight isn't worth the hp gains.
You can mod the two cylinder stock 60 hp engine to around 85 hp.
My personal bike is totally stroked. Very powerful. Like a rocket out of the water.
The problem with the wetbikes is the inefficient pump. You can add more hp, but the pump cannot process all the water. There are several mods you can do to increase pump efficiency. Adding a stainless steel impeller, add an intake fairing, hone out all the rough castings in the exit nozzle, get some custom skis from wetbikebrian (a member of this site as well).
If you need any parts, I have the twist grip throttle in stock, or tech support, please feel free to call or email. I am happy to help.
I have over 40 wetbikes, with thousands of new and used parts available.
