We did talk about a couple of characters that they wanted to save for the WOLVERINE movie spin-off. I can't tell you who they are, but there was really only one we wanted to use for X3, and they said they're not going to have a big enough part to risk losing them for WOLVERINE. Sabretooth will be in there, but I don't know in what form. I think his relationship with Wolverine is under explored.

Die Gerüchte sind aber wiedersprüchlich. Erst letztens habe ich irgndwo gelesen, dass es schlecht aussehen würde für einen Release 2007, dass man wohl eher auf einen Release im Frühjahr / Sommer 2008 anstrebe.

"And, by the way, it is unbelievable. It's a David Benioff script. He's probably the hottest writer going around town, and he was beating down our door to write this movie. We're seriously into talking about it now."

He added that Wolverine will definitely be a prequel but will not follow the Japanese storyline that comic books have addressed.

"At present, no. That is still something we really want to do. What we need to do is establish who he is and find out how he became Wolverine," he explained.

Jackman said he is also interested in making a sequel to Wolverine. "I'm not ruling it out," he smiled.

'Zephyr' is back with a scoop on the comic book adaptation front regarding some guy named Bryan Singer, wonder who that might be:

"Bryan Singer, along with executive producer Chris Lee and producer Jon Peters, are currently in Honolulu not only celebrating Lee's birthday but also discussing the next Superman movie. Pre-production is slated to start as early as sometime mid-to-late next year, the location thereof to still be determined.

However, this is a little more interesting. A Honolulu newspaper stated that Singer has in fact been approached for a potential fourth X-Men movie, though he said he simply couldn't squeeze in a large-scale project before the next Superman.

Although, he did say that he is interested in reading the Wolverine script. That movie in particular said that a director would be popping up soon...and a Wolverine flick, depending on the scale, could be made by Singer before late next year".

The scoop got an extra boost this weekend with comments from Hugh Jackman saying that Singer "is the preferred director but there is a major timing issue in the production".

Der 2005 für den besten Ausländischen Film mit dem Oscar ausgezeichnete Südafrikaner Gavin Hood wird bei dem X-Men Spin-Off Regie führen.

Im November soll mit dem Dreh begonnen werden.
