Hallo,
nur eine knappe Frage zunächst, nämlich: Ist R. auch bei Erwachsenen möglich bzw. gibt es diesbezüglich verbürgte Fälle?
Konkret geht es um mich, 43 Jahre alt, mit allen einschlägigen, im Internet nachzulesenden Symptomen.
Das betroffene Auge ist seit ca. 12 Jahren blind, Netzhautschaden. Dazu Glaukom und Schaden des Pupillenmuskels, Pupille stets auf maximaler Weite (seit 9 Jahren).
Im Juni 2005 begann die neue Geschichte: Das blinde Auge schmerzte, tränte, war gerötet und zugeschwollen. Überdies extreme Nasensekretion. Dies kam in Schüben, jeweils über Nacht. Pro Monat ca. 2 - 4 Mal. Seit November kein solch extremer Schub mehr, aber gelegentlich Schmerzen im blinden Auge.
Untersuchungen: Zunächst tippte ich auf Allergie (ohne Befund), dann auf eine HNO-Sache (ohne Befund), schließlich war ich im akuten Stadium in der Augenambulanz (Azubi-Ärztin anwesend, die mich zu einem späteren Termin zu ihrem Chef einlud; dort, im nicht-akuten Zustand: auch kein Befund).
Lange im Internet recherchiert, auch schon zu Zeiten, als dies akut auftrat. Heute indes aufs Stichwort R. gestossen. Daher meine Frage: Ist R. auch bei Erwachsenen möglich?

Hallo Andreas,
RB ist ein Krebs, der meines Wissens nur bei Kleinkindern auftritt bzw. der
von Geburt an sozusagen angelegt ist und wächst und dann dementsprechend
früh im Leben akut wird. Allerdings habe ich auch von einigen Fällen gehört,
in denen die Tumoren von selbst aufgehört haben zu wachsen, die betroffene
Person dann stark sehbehindert war, aber niemand wusste, dass es RB war (was
besonders tragisch ist, wenn die Kinder es dann bekommen...). Aber frag doch
am Besten in der Uniklinik in Essen nach oder sprich einen Augenarzt direkt
auf diese Möglichkeit an. Ich bin nicht im mindesten medizinisch kompetent
und es gibt ja so viele Merkwürdigkeiten, die man zunächst nicht für möglich
halten würde.

Hallo Andreas !
Es gibt ja nix, was es nicht gibt, denke aber auch, daß es sehr unwahrscheinlich ist. Würde zur Abklärung auf jeden Fall nach Essen gehen. Dort Frau Dr. Jurklies oder Dr. Schüler ansprechen (Station A1).
Außerdem kann man RB auch als Gendefekt nachweisen über einen Bluttest, denke ich. Der Defekt liegt auf dem Gen Nr. 13, soweit ich das verstanden habe.
Für den Fall, daß Du noch KInder willst, würde ich der Sache auf jeden Fall nachgehen.

Hallo Anrea,
Essen ist für mich als Wiener halt ein gutes Stück weit weg, habe aber in Erfahrung gebracht (aufgrund Ingrids PM), dass wir auch in Graz über einen hervorragenden Spezialisten verfügen. Habe ihn mittlweile angemailt und hoffe sehr, dass er RB aufgrund meiner ausführlichen Darstellungen schon mal per Ferndiagnose ausschließen kann. Bin aber nicht sonderlich optimistisch diesbezüglich (schon wegen Ferndiagnose).
