My college girlfriends and I are meeting in Scottsdale to celebrate everyone's 40th birthdays. We would ideally like to stay in a resort, in a big suite altogether, but aren't sure if we will be able to find a place that would accommodate that. I thought perhaps there are resorts that have home/property ownership that allows access to the resorts. Are there any such resorts we could look into that I could then look up on VRBO or the like? Please advise.

We are traveling over MLK wknd, there are 6 of us, and we are/were looking at the spa resorts in town so were already willing to spend $300-$400/night for a hotel room. For a hotel, we were thinking we would need 3 rooms, but would prefer to have the community space to hang out, drink wine, chat. Hence the thought of renting a villa that is attached to a resort, so that we would still have access to the amenities, spas, restaurants, etc. I don't know if such a thing exists.

If not, I would love recommendations for spa resorts that have suites that would accommodate the 6 of us. It's hard finding availability information online without calling the resorts directly (not that I'm opposed to calling, I am just used to being able to get all info/bookings done online.)

There aren't usually regular homes that have access to the resorts. The resort grounds and pools are normally restricted to resort or spa guests, for obvious reasons. (There is one small exception to this, but it's not in an area that allows short terms rentals, and I don't know if they still allow the condo owners to access the resort, anyway.

Near the Camelback Inn is a recently re-opened hotel called Mountain Shadows; they have a couple of suites that are great for entertaining; I think their Presidential Suite is the one with the huge patio. Don't know the cost, but it's a brand new, modern-looking resort.

Lastly, the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park (west of Phoenix) has a couple of huge, multi-bedroom suites (called Bacabi and Oraibi) that are great for groups; I don't know the current cost, though, and they're in high demand. The Wigwam also has some other suites near the tennis courts that are larger, and have room for a group to gather on the balcony or patio.

I just saw that you want to be here over Martin Luther King Day. You're really late to the game, unfortunately, so book whatever you can find, ASAP! All of the suites may be taken by now, anyway, so you may have to make do with 3 regular hotel rooms.
