When you unable to receive the emails on the aol mail account. it means, something is wrong with the user account or password. here are the guide to fix that.

first of all, make sure that the filters are not activated.
Delete the current forwarding account settings.
go to the mail settings on the smartphone and update the imap/pop3 server settings.
Delete the current aol mail account from the smartphones and then re-add them using the valid mail settings.
