US overhead lifting and rigging business Mazzella Companies has announced the acquisition of Midco Companies, a full-service rigging supplier of slings, wire rope, chain, fall protection devices, hoists, blocks and sheaves, and tie-down accessories.

Effective immediately, Midco Companies will operate as Mazzella Midco. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Mazzella said this acquisition further strengthens its footprint in Texas and the Gulf Coast region and reinforces its commitment to be a single source for wire rope and rigging products, engineered lifting solutions, overhead cranes, and inspection and training services.

This acquisition provides Mazzella with three additional locations in Texas and will serve the heavy lifting needs of customers throughout Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

“I welcome our newest teammates from Midco Companies into the Mazzella organization. We’re excited about the great reputation that the Midco team has built during their 45-plus years in business and our shared alignment on building confidence and trust within the industry. Mazzella Midco will continue to deliver on the commitment to excellence that their teammates and customers have come to expect,” said Matt Mazzella, president of Mazzella.

“Midco’s offerings naturally complement Mazzella’s wide range of rigging products and service offerings. Both companies are committed to partnering with the best suppliers in the industry, delivering products made from the highest quality materials, and sharing our expertise when it comes to safety and compliance in overhead lifting.”

“We are very pleased to be a part of Mazzella Companies. Their reputation brings honour to Midco. I am happy we found such a great home for our Midco team members and see a tremendous future for them,” said Doug Dry, president/owner of Midco Companies.

Midco Companies was founded in 1976 to supply quality wire rope, chain, and rigging to the Dallas and Fort Worth markets. In 1980, Midco expanded into San Antonio, Texas, and further expanded into Longview, Texas, in 1988.

Mazzella Companies employs over 1,000 individuals in 40-plus locations across North America.

The chinese swords legacy extends beyond the battlefield. It has played a prominent role in Japanese culture, literature, and art for centuries. The sword's cultural impact is evident in the traditional martial art of kendo, where practitioners engage in disciplined swordsmanship using bamboo replicas of the samurai sword . Additionally, the katana's iconic form has inspired countless depictions in literature, film, and popular culture, solidifying its status as a timeless symbol of Japanese heritage and warrior spirit.
