Week 1 is in the books, but lets not jump to conclusions and overreact to your first- or second-round picks putting up duds this week. There were a bunch of breakout performances, somemore noteworthy than others. Be smart with your waiver claims and acquire players that addre s a big need for you or have long-term staying power. You dont need to spend all your FAAB the first week, but be aware there are some players worth paying up for this week. WEEK 2 NON-PPR RANKINGS: | | | | |
Fantasy Football FAAB targets: QuarterbackMatthew Stafford DET; FAAB Bid: 6-8% of total budget:Stafford should be rostered. He played hurt last year and left people with a bad taste in their mouths, and he wont be throwing it 45 times in an overtime effort every week. But the 385 pa sing yards and three touchdowns sure do raise Stan Musial Jersey some eyebrows. There are good receiving weapons around him, and there will be frustrating games for Stafford, but Sunday showed some upside. Between T.J. Hockenson, Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones Jr., and Danny Amendola there will be some solid pa sing performances for Stafford this year.
Josh Allen BUF; FAAB Bid: 6-8%:Allen is still pretty available on waivers and had a decent day for fantasy purposes. There was some concern over how much he would actually run or scramble, and he still rattled off 10 rushing attempts yesterday. He only accumulated 38 rushing yards, but he found the end zone with his legs, all while throwing for 254 yards and a touchdown with a pair of interceptions. Its well documented that hes not the greatest pa ser, but hes good enough with his legs to be a starter in a 12-team league.
Andy Dalton CIN; FAAB Bid: 4-5%:Dalton had a career day against the Seahawks.The offensive line did okay keeping Dalton upright. The five sacks are not good, but the line did enough for Dalton to keep the team in the game. After all, Cincinnati only lost to Seattle on the road by Jose Martinez Jersey one. The running game was atrocious for Cincinnati. If the ground game struggles, it will benefit Dalton and lead to more pa s attempts. In this case on Sunday, they attempted 51 pa s attempts to just 14 rush attempts. Remember, new head coach Zac Taylor comes from the Sean McVay coaching tree, so theres a lot of fantasy upside for Dalton and the pa sing game, and itll get better once A.J. Green returns.
Marcus Mariota TEN; FAAB Bid: 2-3%:Hopefully it doesnt come to this, but if youre looking to replace your QB, Mariota is available in a ton of St. Louis Cardinals Jersey leagues. Super Mario put up a respectable stat line of 248 pa sing yards and three touchdowns. However, the big concern is that the Titans ran the ball 28 times compared to just 24 pa s attempts. A lot of that is the byproduct of dominating the Browns in many areas of the game. But if any of the above quarterbacks are available, you should look to take a shot on them.

Fantasy Football FAAB targets: RBDevin Singletary BUF; FAAB Bid: 15-30%:It seemed like this would take longer to develop, but the Bills hit the ground running this week. Singletary may have only had four carries compared to Frank Gores 11, but he turned those four carries into 70 rushing yards, and he also caught five pa ses for 28 yards. Gore had 20 yards on 11 carries. Womp Womp. Buffalo hopefully feeds Singletary more. They saw what he can do on offense, and theres no question he can contribute. Hes only available in shallow leagues at this point, but if hes out there and you need running back help, youll likely need to pay upwardof 25-30 percentof your FAAB for him. Singletary was on the field for 48 snaps compared to Gores 19. Game script also helped the rookie in Sundays game, but the Bills will find themselves in plenty of close contests.
Chris Thompson WSH; FAAB Bid: 10 Mike Shannon Jersey -15%:Chris Thompson is always a viable option in PPR formats, and his ownership will spike tremendously after Sunday. Derrius Guice was in line for a ton of work with Adrian Peterson a healthy scratch, but once Guice went down it was all Thompson instead of the active Wendell Smallwood. Thompson didnt get much going on the ground, but thats never been his strength. He led the team with 10 targets, catching sevenfor 68 yards. He takes a hit in standard formats where you dont need to pay as much for him, but he needs to be rostered in all PPR formats. Guice is expected to mi s a few weeks, and even with Peterson likely leading the team in carries, Thompson should still be involved. The big concern is the severity of Guices injury. With said injury, you can add the Redskins to the list of teams that could be in on Melvin Gordon if its serious.
Malcolm Brown LAR; FAAB Bid: 5-15%:If youre the Todd Gurley owner, or just some schmuck that needs a flier at running back, Brown needs to be picked up. Gurley saw a much lighter workload than most imagined. A lot of people knew fewer touches were coming. Not many saw it top out at 15. Against the Panthers he had 14 carries and one catch for 101 total yards and zero touchdowns. Malcolm Brown was in on the drives that resulted in rushing touchdowns, and Darrell Henderson was spotted with a carry at the goal line as well, Trevor Rosenthal Jersey but he failed to find the end zone. This could be a bad sign for Gurley if he's not considered the go-to back inside the 10 no matter how the rest of the drive is going.
Carlos Hyde HOU; FAAB Bid: 7-8%:Well, its come to this:Hyde looked like a competent running back on Monday night against the Saints. The offensive line is still awful, and hell have some bad games, but Mondays performance merits a mention in the waiver column. Theres a reasonable path to production for both Hyde and Duke Johnson. Johnson will be featured more in the pa sing game while Hyde could see about 12 carries per game on average. Im writing this begrudgingly because Im not crazy about Hydes prospects, but give him credit: He Roger Maris Jersey had a good game Monday night.
Giovani Bernard CIN; FAAB Bid: 6-8%:This suggestion makes for a great handcuff if youre a Joe Mixon owner. Mixon left Sundays game against the Seahawks in the first half with an ankle injury, which opened the door for Gio. But even when Gio got the opportunity there wasnt a ton of work for him. He had just seven carries for 21 yards, but he also hadtwo receptions for 42 yards. The Bengals dont feel Mixons injury is serious, but its fairly telling how bad the run game was behind this offensive line. Hes a high prio
