In need of a win after Liverpool's victory at Newcastle United, Manchester City responded in style with a rout of Leeds United. However, it wasn't plain sailing for Pep Guardiola's side, who were made to work for their win during an entertaining game.
Leeds were aggre sive, both on and off the ball, and regularly looked to disrupt City's rhythm when out of po se sion. It worked insofar as goalkeeper Meslier had little to do until the latter stages of the game, but it meant Leeds gave away numerous set-pieces, and they were duly punished.
