Serverless functions are programming operations that are based on fully administered infrastructure and these are conventionally used for single tasks. These are CSPs that take responsibility to set up and manage hardware resources and these solutions are called FaaS or Function as a Service.
Here are reasons to choose FaaS over traditional means:
- FaaS is less expensive and development teams and companies don't have to invest in the deployment of infrastructure resources.
- You don't have to install more hardware resources when it comes to expanding your project. You can perform this act within seconds.
- It is easy to find resources about serverless functions and service providers even with a free tier. Back4App, AWS Lambda and Azure are big names here.
- Fast development and less time to market are also appealing advantages of using serverless functions.
