YPG/YPJ fighters who repulsed an attack by ISIS gangs using bomb laden vehicles and tanks on 29 November, inflicted heavy blows on the gangs. YPG/YPJ fighters have also taken some positions from the gangs on the south eastern front. Rojvan Kobanê described what happened on 29 November when the gangs came to take Kobanê with Turkish support. He said: "That day they wanted to take Kobanê, but it didn’t happen. They couldn’t do it. We counter attacked and took several of their positions.”

The resistance in Kobanê is now in its 79th day. All ISIS attacks have been repulsed by the resistance of the YPG/YPJ fighters and the people of Kobanê. The attack mounted from Turkish territory on 29 November was one of the biggest ISIS attacks. The assault started with a bomb laden vehicle crossing from Turkey through the Mürşitpınar Border gate and on the same day ISIS carried out a day-long attack on the city using heavy weaponry, 4 car bombs and suicide bombers. While all the attacks were repulsed, the armoured vehicle that ISIS brought through the border gate exploded on the way in to Kobanê.
