Auch in Amerika regt sich der Widerstand. Wir müssen uns mit diesem Widerstand verbrüdern. Wir verfolgen die gleichen Ziele.

To All Those Who Made Wednesday's Ad in the USA Today Possible:

This week thousands people who are deeply distressed over the direction in which the Bush regime is dragging the countryand the worldpoured their hearts and money into an unprecedented response to the plan to get World Cant Waits call into USA Today. Thousands and thousands of people responded in an effort that came snowballing in the last 3 days to meet the challenge of an expensive national ad that had to be paid in full before it could run.

We have succeeded and the ad in the national edition today because of all of your efforts. Congratulations to all of you. You have made it possible to have our response running opposite coverage of Bushs speech to the UN and people in cities across the country will know there is an alternative.

Silence when your country is committing war crimes is not acceptable. The USA today ad is a very loud message that Bush does not Represent Us and we will Drive Him Out. October 5 is the day when people across the country are being called into the streets demanding that endless war, torture and changing all the rules of due process and international conventions must be brought to a HALT.

On September 7 1300 people crowded into halls and churches to plan our next steps to make October 5 a day that can begin something new in this country. There are still huge leaps to be made if we to accomplish what we have set out to do but the outpouring of response to the USA today ad is one more confirmation of the basis to do it.

Now we have to go all out to organize tens of thousands of people to be there on October 5. We are aiming for 100,000 people nation-wide. All of you who donated represent people who make up a very large part of the population of this country, and whose basic sentiments are shared by the majority of people throughout the world. Imagine if out of this reservoir of people a great wave were unleashed on October 5 making it known through their decency and their firm stand that there is a force in society that rejects the idea that anything is justified in the name of keeping Americans safe, and that we care about the whole world and the delicate future the planet.

What is being silenced in the halls of power must be massively heard in the streets. Tens of thousands in the streets on October 5 can be enough to kick open the door that draws in hundreds of thousands of people looking for the vehicle they need to act. If we succeed, the possibility of turning things around and onto a much more favorable direction can take on a whole new dimension of reality.

Here is What You Need to Do on October 5

Demonstrate take off work, dont go to school or leave early, and congregate at rallies being planned in cities across the country. The rallies will be informative events where people can learn more about the analysis of World Cant Wait that there is a coherent program represented by the Bush Regime that is a remaking society and changing all the rules in a fascist way and for generations to come. This movement is not protest as usual but a movement setting its sights on driving a sitting president from office before 2008.

After the rallies we will march through the streets calling on others to join us! Rallies are being held at central civic places, federal buildings, city halls, and rural post offices. If there is not an organized rally in your town go to the city hall at 12:00 pm with signs and meet people who feel like you do. Together, you can organize the next demonstration.

Ich packe das hier hineoin, weil es zeitlich und thematisch zu dem selben Themenkreis zuzuordnen ist. Man möge mir vergeben, wenn ich damit falsch liege.

Two Civil Disobedience Protesters Still in Jail! 14 Released

Call to demand the release of the two protesters!

As George W. Bush was laying down his diktats to the world in the UN
General Assembly, sixteen activists staged a non-violent civil
disobedience protest directly in front of the United Nations.

Stung by the fact that the protesters got through intense police
security and that they were calling out Bush as a war criminal, several
of the demonstrators were hit serious bogus charges:

Father Luis Barrios, from of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and a national
leader of World Can’t Wait, was charged with assaulting a police
officer. Fr. Barrios was actually knocked to the ground by police from
behind as he held up his hands saying “I am not resisting.”

Geoff Mallard, a disabled Iraq war vet, was charged with resisting
arrest when he fell down trying to board the police wagon.

Check out the pictures on the World Can’t Wait – Drive Out the Bush
Regime! web site:

We urge people to continue to call in to release the two protesters
still in.

To quote from New York One (the New York news channel):
... barricade outside the UN. The group was calling for the ouster of
President Bush for what they have deemed "crimes against humanity.". ...

From the statement of those who did civil disobedience at the UN to
stand against the Bush Regime:

"We have come to the United Nations today to engage in non-violent civil
disobedience. We demand the war on Iraq end immediately. We oppose any
attack on Iran. We declare to the world that President George W. Bush
has been found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity. He does
not speak for us.

"These crimes must come to a halt. As the Not In Our Name Statement of
Conscience (Jan. 2005) said: 'It is our responsibility to stop the Bush
regime from carrying out this disastrous course. We believe history will
judge us sharply should we fail to act decisively.'"

Some Other Participants include:

of us to make,” Elaine Brower states, “is to take it upon ourselves to
stop this awful war and all the other atrocities we watch being
committed."
