'If you don’t know Richard Walters then you’re no Oxford music enthusiast. The man has being around forever, playing nearly every Oxford Punt since time began (he got away with doing so on several technicalities). He set up The Beard Museum, a regular acoustic night at The Purple Turtle, and has been an all-round stalwart on the live gig circuit ever since. Having had several brushes with the main-stream music industry, Walters is currently settled with Noel Hogan's Mono Band. Noel was previously the guitarist in The Cranberries' - BBC Radio Oxford

Written over a three year period of ecstatic highs and crushing lows for Walters, he was galvanised to record the album only after he had fallen in love with an American girl and moved with her to Paris from his home town of Oxford. His gentle falsetto, free from theatrics and histrionics, means that the subjects of his songs come as a surprise. Singing about having a seizure, or the anxiety you feel at the start of an affair, or about domestic abuse from the point of view of the abuser, Walters resolutely refuses to "rock out": the mood is of quiet despair and unfulfilled desire, of anxiety and dismay, of melancholy and longing.

I'm particularly proud of this little song. We recorded it looking out over the Parisian rooftops and chimneys some weeks ago, and its a souvenir of a perfect day I suppose.
