There was a day, not long ago,
I broke down in despair.
I screamed my pain out to the world
But no one seemed to care.

I begged, I prayed, I hoped, I cried -
Nobody heard my voice,
But then I heard The Whisperer:
"It’s you - you have the choice!"

Instead of helping me to live
He gave me wings to fly,
Once fear and darkness owned my life
Now I possess the sky.

I spread my wings, I take a breath -
Now freedom will be found!
One step beyond the balustrade -
I thudded on the ground.
