According to several news reports the U.S. and Turkey have agreed to do something in north Syria. But there seems to be no agreement on anything else. There is disunity about the aim of something as well as on the target of any something operation. The means of achieving something are in dispute. Even the geographic space in which something is supposed to happen is undefined. The only agreed upon issue besides doing something is to throw the Kurds, the most successful force against the Islamic State so far, under the bus.

Last weeks suicide attack on a meeting of young, mostly Kurdish socialists attributed to the Islamic State was probably a false flag operation initiated by Erdogan's secret service. I discussed the possibility of such an attack a month ago: The Turkish Military Rejects Erdogan's War Plans - "False Flag" Needed?. The attack on the Kurds was then used to justify an operation against the Islamic State. But that operation is only pretended. That Erdogan's claim of attacking the Islamic State is only theater and that his real aim is a war on the Kurds who fight the Islamic State can be seen best in these tweets:

»Islamischer Staat« hinter Attacke vermutet
http://www.jungewelt.de/2015/07-21/052.php
How and why did the Suruç massacre happen?
We should ask the following questions with regards to the attack:
1- Police comprehensively searched the youth as they were heading to Amara Cultural Center. The police checkpoint was 200 meters away from Amara, and the police could have set up the checkpoint nearer to the cultural center. Did the police set up the checkpoint 200 meters away from Amara so that they would not get hurt by the explosion?
2- How did the ISIS suicide bomber enter the cultural center in an environment where the police searched each notebook, camera and even pencil on the slaughtered youth?
3- How did the Turkish intelligence, that surveils everywhere in Suruç including the Mürşitpınar Border Gate, manage to not ‘see’ the ISIS member?
4- How is it possible for the police to not identify the ISIS member despite the fact that Amara Cultural Center is located next to a police station?
5- Why did the police attack civilians who were carrying the injured people to the hospital? Is it because they wanted the wounded people to die as well?
6- How many ISIS cells exist in and around Suruç? Is the state aware of these cells?
7- Why were the bodies examined in Antep Forensics as opposed to Urfa Forensics? What were they trying to hide?
8- There are witness statements claiming that there were two attackers, one man exploding the bomb and one women getting injured, and the injured women is under police custody currently. Who is the woman attacker, born in 1995 in Sivas, who is being held under police custody? Why do the officials fail to make a statement on this issue?
The respondent of these questions is the state, and the questions’ answers are obvious.

Residents of Elbeyli district of Kilis province stated that the current military deployment does not aim an attack on Rojava but to extend ISIS rule in the region. DİHA cameras had filmed ISIS gangs as they were crossing the border and Elbeyli residents said that the borders were open for ISIS.
The deployment of tanks, armored vehicles and special operations forces intimidate Elbeyli residents who stated that the military deployment was aiming to prevent the finalization of the three cantons’ unification after the victory of Girê Spî. Elbeyli residents said that ISIS gangs around the border could cross the border as they pleased and constantly threatened civilians living in the district. Many Elbeyli residents suggested that the deployment of Turkish soldiers was aiming to strengthen ISIS so that the gangs could repel YPG/YPJ operations in the region.

‘Barzani should decide if he will be Mandela or Mubarak’
Kurdish Election Institute representative Aram Cemal said that Barzani should decide if he will be Mandela, Mubarak or Bashar al-Assad.
Kurdish Election Institute representative Aram Cemal who spoke to ANF stated that the lack of a democratic constitution has been a major problem in South Kurdistan, and called on Masoud Barzani to decide whether he will be Mandela, Mubarak or Bashar al-Assad. Cemal stated that the draft report of the Parliament’s Constitution Commission should be shared with the public in order to facilitate social participation in this process.
