Former CIA officer says US policies helped create IS

American [author and former CIA officer] Graham Fuller emphasized that the West, including the United States, has now accepted that the [Bashar al-] Assad government will retain power. According to Fuller, Turkey has to do the same. Fuller, who described the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham [now the Islamic State, or IS] as "made in the USA," also made a confession of sorts about the struggle between [Turkey's Justice and Development Party] AKP and the Gulen movement by saying, “It turned out to be deeper than I thought.” But he noted that the positive approach of the Unite toward [Fethullah] Gulen has not changed.

A 17-year-old German attempting to join ISIS has been captured by people maintaining the solidarity vigil with Kobanê in the border village of Mahser (Çaykara) in Suruç district. The German citizen, by the name of L. Lang, was handed over to police who in turn surrendered him to his family who had come to Suruç, from where he was returned to his country.

L. Lang, from the North Rhine Westphalia state of Germany, was held by people maintaining the solidarity vigil in the village of Mahser as he attempted to cross the border on 18 October. They then handed Lang over to HDP officials. Lang admitted to the HDP officials that he had travelled to the area in order to join the ISIS gangs and had been captured by people at the vigil as he crossed the border. The HDP officials handed Lang over to the police and then informed his family. His family arrived last night from Germany and Lang was surrendered to them before returning home.

Turkish support for ISIS gangs has been proved once more with photographic evidence. Armed gang members have been photographed at the border with Turkish soldiers, bidding each other farewell.

Turkish support for ISIS gangs, which is constantly on the international agenda, has been documented once again by footage shot by the Dicle News Agency (DİHA), which shows armed men talking to soldiers before crossing into Rojava.

Academics and writers from all over the world, including Noam Chomsky and Nobel Peace Laureate Adolfo Perez Esquivel have put their names to the appeal for global solidarity with Kobanê on 1 November when demonstrations will take place across the world in support of the Kobanê resistance against ISIS gangs. The day has been declared as International Day of Solidarity with Kobanê.
