Delta Spirit Plan New EP By Staff on November 4, 2010
Just this summer, indie-rockers Delta Spirit released their glorious LP, History From Below. Not to take too long of a break, these fellows are already set to release a new EP.
The Waits Room EP is named after the "Waits Room" at Prairie Studios in Cotati, CA. In case you didn't figure it out already, the Waits that they speak of here is legendary Tom Waits who used this specific room while recording Mule Variations.
The five-song EP is available right now on the band's current tour in a limited run of 300, 12", 180-gram vinyl. The EP will also be available through iTunes on November 16th.
Dawes, Deer Tick, Delta Spirit Singers Form ‘Middle Brother’
Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, John McCauley of Deer Tick, and Matthew Vasquez of Delta Spirit have joined forces to create the group, Middle Brother. Come this March, their debut album will arrive.
Under the temporary name "MG&V", Middle Brother made their debut at 2010's SXSW at a small, unannounced event. You can see a few of the songs performed below.
The 12-track, self-titled debut boasts rock songwriting styles reminiscent of Tom Petty and Neil Young both in the anthematic and upbeat rock tune ways.
For those of you in the Los Angeles area, Middle Brother will be performing at a one-off show on December 20th at the Troubador at an Invisible Children benefit curated by KCRW and Yours Truly.
Middle Brother's debut, self-titled album arrives March 1 via Partisan Records.
